Wisdom, a 15.1% Weller Bourbon BA Old Ale brewed with @horusagedales

We brewed this English Old Ale two years ago when our friend Kyle, who owns Horus Aged Ales, was in Maine for a visit. We let the beer sit in kegs for a few months while we tracked down some amazing Weller barrels and then let it age in them for a year and a half. We were supposed to brew it again with him in two weeks and have him here for the release, but--COVID ???? It will definitely reappear again in the future.

The name Wisdom comes from Kyle’s love of birds. If you’ve seen his labels, it's apparent. Wisdom is the name of a female albatross that is the oldest known wild bird, so we thought it was appropriate for an Old Ale. Aromas of whiskey, toffee, and light sherry, give way to flavors of more toffee, caramel, dried fruits, and sweet biscuits.
