Crafted with a blend of beers aged for up to two years in French oak and American oak barrels, this limited-release sour ale showcases the brewery’s dedication to innovation and tradition.  Pouring a golden amber with a gentle haze, Merveilleux greets you with a bouquet of stone fruits, vanilla, and subtle oak. Each sip reveals layers of apricot, pear, and tart cherry, complemented by notes of honey, toasted oak, and a touch of farmhouse funk. The oak aging brings a soft tannic structure and whispers of vanilla and spice, perfectly balancing the beer’s bright acidity and gentle sweetness.

Allagash Coolship Resurgum 2013 is a brilliant showcase of traditional Belgian-inspired brewing and Allagash Brewing Company’s dedication to craftsmanship. This spontaneously fermented ale is created using the centuries-old method of cooling wort in an open-air “coolship,” allowing native wild yeast and bacteria to shape its character &mdash a rare and authentic approach that results in exceptional complexity and depth.  The 2013 vintage pours a radiant golden hue with a lively, effervescent head. Aromas of lemon zest, green apple, and hay intertwine with delicate funk and a hint of oak. On the palate, vibrant notes of citrus, pear, and white grape mingle with earthy undertones and a gentle tartness. The barrel aging lends a subtle vanilla and oak character, while the crisp acidity and dry finish make every sip refreshing and refined.
