This stout had two consecutive stays in Eagle Rare, Weller, Buffalo Trace, and Russell’s Reserve barrels over the course of two years. We solely used our highest gravity base, which offers this iteration of Double Barrel Catch Hell an extra wide stance. Total scale on this series continues to lean bigger and bigger.
A tall-head pour quickly fires off aromas of woody spirit and fireball. First sips yield powdery cinnamon with hyper dense milk chocolate, Tootsie Roll Vanilla Midgees, and a sweet calm slathered on the bun of big, big stout. So very good, and definitely walking around up a weight class. Applause to the team for pushing on this series and delivering more and more experience.
